Why is Jacob so great?

The reasons I like Jacob more than Edward and am constantly rooting for him in the book even though I know it's futile is because Edward and Bella's relationship reminds me what I thought about love as a teenager. "This [insert guy's name here] is so perfect! Why would he want me?" while Jacob and Bella's relationship reminds me more of my marriage (I'm in my 20s so my teens aren't that far away...yet.). Jacob does little things to show Bella that he loves her, like pays attention to the fact she doesn't like music when she's going through her depression. He listens more to her and their relationship is built off of a friendship. If you can't say that the person you love is your best friend, then you will probably have problems in your relationship. And I like the fact that Jacob loves Bella because he loves her and there isn't anything weird going on like he is enticed by the smell of her blood or imprinting. I always wonder if Bella and Edward really love each other or if it's just some weird supernatural thing. I mean, if her blood wasn't so enticing, would he have even paid attention to her? I think the answer is no.

Hey all you fellow Jacob lovers!... and yes even you Edward lovers lol

Ok so I am a huge insomniac, and have actually given this topic way too much thought so feel free to stop reading at any time. I don't have anything against said bloodsucker aka Edward... I just think Jacob is way better lol. First of all while Edward my not have chosen his vampire life, neither has poor Jacob, this was thrust upon him, and instead of whinning and running around like a spoiled millionaire, Jacob has sacrificed his youth to helping people. His entire existance is now revolved around helping his people and protecting them. The Cullens have done nothing to help humanity (ok so a doctor is nothing to scoff at, but there are plenty of those), unless you count not thinking of them as happy meals. Plus he has never let Bella down, even when it meant sacrificing his own heart, that's the true definition of love. So they can have brooding Edward, I'll take sweet, selfless Jacob any day

I fully agree with you- I also think that Edwards love is mostly build on his instinctive reaction to Bellas blood.

I like Jacob better because he's more human than Edward. He shows all his feelings and is always sincere. I couldn't believe that when Jacob & Bella kissed before the battle in Eclipse Edward wasn't jealous at all, it seemed like he didn't care
Jake is so cheerful and with his sense of humour it's never boring. That is why he would even better fit Bella.
Both Edward and Jacob have a dark secret, they're both strong, have supernatural powers and their love to a girl is unimaginable big. But Jacob is warm (in every way) and represents life in opposite to Edward with whom goes always death.
I prefer to kiss hot lips from a hot boy than an ice cold statue
I don't have to mention that Taylor playing Jacob only makes my sympathy for this character bigger and bigger and...

and in the movie, that may be so
but this website existed before the movies, so the book is more important. in the book, edward is always being described as better looking than jacob. jacob may be hot, but according to SM edward is hotter

yeh, i s'pose but in the book id rather jake anyway, I read the series before i saw the movie and I was still Jake the whole way.

i had watched twilight, obviously i hadnt seen New Moon, cauz fr 1) it wasnt out and fr 2) I still hvnt seen it!

twasn't the acting either. new moon was alright, but the actors were the same. it was the directing

Jacob is has a 8 pack,I mean how could bella want a heart breaking jerk how endangerds her life all the time when she has Jacob who always does as much as he can to keep her safe [even the blood suckers ]
